Q. How do you establish "resonable and customary" rates in Mexico?
A. Since we provide services and information to payers across the US and Canada, we based our criteria on California's Code of Regulations Title 28. Our research has revealed that California often has the most stringent guidelines when it comes to regulating payers.
When providing claim specific information pertaining to the cost of medical services and supplies in Mexico, our panel of Mexican medical providers take into consideration factors such as the provider's education and training, length in practice, nature of services provided, fees usually charged by provider (to Mexican patients), prevailing rates in geographical area and unusual circumstances involved in the case.
We believe that our high standards stand up to scrutiny from regulators nation wide. |
